~Get To The Water~

Mark 11:22-24 ” And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.  For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.  Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”

I know I am using the King James for this verse this time, but in this message we are going to look at this verse in a fresh way.  But before we do that I want to address the hidden catalyst behind this event, and the fulfillment of our faith.  Desire.  What things soever you desire.  Desire is a good thing- otherwise it would not be involved in this verse and connected with prayer. It is only perverted when it is completely selfish, and it harms other people.

Sometimes desire is difficult to put into words. We have yearnings on the inside, but we cannot put them into words- and this verse tells of the NEED to put them into words in order to release desire’s creative power.

1 Cor. 2:9-14

“But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”  But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.  For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.  Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.”

“These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.  But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”

There are things we know in our spirit that our minds can’t fully comprehend yet. This is the realm of possibility, the realm of desire. Sometimes spiritual foreknowledge is manifest in the human soul as DESIRE.  When we feed our spirit’s desire, it develops into expectation, until your faith explodes into manifestation.

Now, do you know it is possible to desire, miss and need something that you have never had before?   God has formed us, designed us, and predestined us for a purpose in Him before the foundation of the earth.  You were not sent here to find a purpose, you were sent here ON a purpose, and since you were sent here ON a purpose, there are things that you need that you don’t yet know that you need to fulfill that purpose!

We are ever increasing in the vision of the purpose of God, there are things that we don’t yet possess that we need to possess, to get where we are going to go. So that means that within me, within you, there is a gravitational pull toward things that we need to fulfill that purpose! This is the work of the Spirit within us to prepare us for His predestined purpose. The foreknowledge of the will of God is manifest in the human soul as desire. And the more we work with the Spirit of God, feeding our spirit, the more these desires are clarified to us, and empowered within us.

It is often difficult to decipher these feelings of desire, so God has given us His Word to connect specific words, directions and concepts with this inner spiritual desire! The Word and the Spirit agree.  But without the internal Desire kicking in, the Word is not put into action, and unfortunately it becomes something to KNOW, rather than something to FULFILL. It is the Spirit that gives LIFE to the Word, and He wants to fulfill it in and through US. So there is a gravitational pull within us towards things we need to fulfill that Call of God for our lives.

People talk about the waves and refreshings of revival- and throughout the Bible there is a very common symbol of the Holy Spirit- and that is through the symbolism of water. How it flows, moves, brings life, cleanses, refreshes, carries things along, and much more. In Acts chapter 2 the Holy Spirit is POURED out on all flesh- and out of your belly will flow RIVERS of living WATER-  and because this fact is so clear, it becomes easy to go back through the Bible, and see how God- as a Master Storyteller- weaves the concepts of How The Spirit of God Works in how He used water with His people and His plans!

We all have a DESIRE, an innate thirst for the things of God. These desires sometimes are deep within us and need to be stirred up. This message is meant to awaken the hopes and desires that God has what we need, everything is available, in the realm of His Spirit. All our desires are fully satisfied, all God’s purposes come to pass, all our needs are met, every obstacle is broken through and miracles flood our lives- if we will just get to the water!

This messages is one of the most motivational I have ever preached and ministered on recently. No joke. It really blessed me to minister on this topic, and it really infected many of the hearers for a long time afterwards! It kept coming up in conversations, prayers etc. (as messages normally should!) But it is so important to get this drive within us- to Just. Get. To. The. Water.

I pray that it is a powerful blessing and encouragement to you as well.
