Study Guide for Exousia and Dunamis

“Then He called His twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all demons, and to cure diseases.”

-Luke 9:1

I have encountered many people who have questions about the power of God. Why one person operates this way, and why one person operates another way… as well as the differences between how Jesus Himself operated in the power of God and performed healings and miracles. I have found that some of the answers can be found in how the Bible uses the words authority and power. If you read through the New Testament- it seems these words can be used interchangeably at times, but in the Greek there are a number of distinct words for each type of power. The english language is great, but sometimes things get lost in the translation. For example: we use the same word ‘love’ for a spouse as we do for pizza, but in the Greek there are specific love words that are used for God’s love, family love, friendship love, and erotic love. In the same way, there are specific words for types of power in the Greek.

I am making available for free download a Study Guide that details two of the external exercises of God’s power that are available to and through the believer in Christ. There are several types of internal power, but the study of the external exercise of Exousia and Dunamis will be the easiest for someone to understand and become operational in.

This Study Guide is NOT an e-book, where all the meditation work is done for you. This is simply a guide that has pulled out all the relevant verses in the New Testament that relate to these two types of power and gives some insights of how they can be believed for, exercised and enhanced in the believer’s life. There is power in the raw study and meditation of God’s Word, and I believe your faith will rise as you take the time to read and study these things out. You may just be surprised what you learn, and how you will be able to dissect miracles to see what kind of power is operating at any given time.

If I ever start a Bible college, I want to preview your materials for curriculum. They look great.
